Dhaka, Dec 13, 2020: Two brothers were killed when a bus lost control and crashed into a garage in Dumuria, Khulna.

Their mother was seriously injured. Doctors said his condition was critical. The deceased have been identified as Sabbir Hossain, 15, and Rakibul Hasan, 5.
The tragic accident took place at around 4 pm on Saturday (December 12) in a garage in Chuknagar market in Dumuria.

According to police and eyewitness sources, Sabbir Hossain, son of Amjad Hossain Sheikh of Rostampur village in Dumuria upazila, went to Chuknagar market in a van with his brother Rakibul Hasan and mother. The van was later taken to a garage on the side of the road for repairs. The Chuknagar-bound (Dhaka-Metro-14-1300) high-speed passenger bus, which left Jessore at that time, lost control and entered the garage. Rakibul Hasan was killed on the spot.

Big brother Sabbir Hossain was seriously injured. Later, locals and police rescued the injured and sent them to Khulna Medical College Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment there.


Chuknagar Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rezaul Karim said the victims were rescued from the spot and the deadly bus was seized. The bus driver fled. The driver lost control of the bus and the accident took place, the police official said.
