Dhaka, March 18: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh's position has always been in favour of the oppressed, many are vocal about child rights and human rights. But they have no voice when so many children are dying in Palestinian Gaza under Israeli attacks. Where is the world humanity in the case of Palestinian children?

She said these on the occasion of Bangabandhu's 104th birth anniversary and National Children's Day at Tungipara, Gopalganj on Sunday, March 17.

The Prime Minister said, "We are always on the side of oppressed people. Many are vocal about child rights and human rights, but also see their double-edged behavior. When women and children are attacked in Gaza, where are the human rights organizations? Where is their sense of humanity? My question is why the world conscience is not shaken by the attack on Gaza."

Stating that she wants to see the children of today as the artisans of building a better Bengal of the future, the head of government said that it is not the pressure in the name of studies that is important but the development of intellect and mind.

PM told the parents that the children get the opportunity to think and think. Don't create stress in the name of studies. That is how we are doing the curriculum.

She said, "We are aiming to ensure that children become human beings in a beautiful environment. Dropout rate of children has been reduced. Today's children will be the key leaders in building a smart and developed Bangladesh. We are raising children as fit citizens to keep pace with the world. It is our promise that today's children will grow up to be smart citizens."

On the occasion, the Prime Minister gave away prizes to the winners of literary and cultural competitions and financial grants to the underprivileged.
