Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jimming has expressed concern over the repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar. He expressed these concerns during a meeting with Foreign Minister Abdul Momen in Dhaka on Sunday (October 11th).

At this time, Momen sought China's cooperation in the repatriation of Rohingya.

He noted that if the repatriation process of Rohingyas is prolonged, they will become a threat to the security of the area.

There are also allegations that some Rohingya are involved in drug trafficking.

Eight people have been killed in recent clashes between two groups of Rohingya. Besides, these incidents are increasing day by day. Due to the delay in the repatriation process, the dissatisfaction of the local people with the Rohingya and foreign aid agencies is increasing day by day.

Dr. Momen noted that humanitarian assistance and improved living standards for the Rohingya were not enough to solve the problem. Rather, a permanent solution to this problem is needed through their repatriation. The Chinese ambassador agreed with him on the matter.

The foreign minister said the killers of Chinese nationals in Pirojpur would be brought to justice soon. The government is very active in this regard. Two people, including the main accused in the incident, have already been arrested.

The Ambassador said that the book 'Amar Dekha Naya China' written by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is being translated into Chinese and it will be published very soon. He thanked President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for extending greetings on the occasion of Bangladesh's diplomatic relations with China.

The Chinese ambassador also handed over a letter from Foreign Minister Wang Yi to the Foreign Minister. Hong Kong is mentioned as an internal matter of China. The Chinese Foreign Minister thanked Momen.
