Bangladesh Clearance of concerned OC is required for taking generator oil: DMP
Dhaka, 12 November 2023 : In the name of blockade and hartal, a particular group is adopting various tactics to carry out acts of sabotage, violence and terrorism, including car burning, cocktail explosions, petrol bombs and injuring innocent citizens.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued 10 guidelines to ensure that no one chooses to set fire to petrol pumps and CNG stations as easy targets for ongoing vandalism and collect petrol/fuel oil from petrol pumps.
This directive was signed by DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman on Saturday (November 10).
1. Police will strengthen security and increase vigilance to prevent all forms of vandalism including vandalism and arson of petrol pumps and CNG stations.
2. Assistant Commissioners of Police and Officers-in-Charge (OC) of Police Stations will conduct on-site inspection of petrol pumps and CNG stations under their respective jurisdictions to supervise overall security and ensure effective security.
3. Deputy Commissioners of Police and OCs of each crime division will coordinate with owners of petrol pumps and CNG stations in their respective jurisdictions to ensure arrangements.
4. Ensuring round-the-clock (24/7) security at respective petrol pumps and CNG stations through own manpower 5.
Every petrol pump and CNG station area should be covered by CCTV cameras with night vision capability and DVR and DVR should be placed in safe place.
6. Duty Officer, Inspector (Investigation/Operations), OC, Fire Service and National Emergency Service 999 phone number of the concerned Police Station shall be posted in a visible place.
7. Maintain adequate fire fighting equipment and verify the effectiveness of the equipment by conducting drills.
8. Ensuring security by own manpower during oil loading in the reservoir and not allowing all types of vehicles to enter the petrol pump at that time.
9. Sale of loose/open fuel oil should be completely stopped but fuel oil required for running generators of houses/factories/institutions shall be sold subject to production of safety clearance from the OC of the concerned police station and recorded in the register maintained at petrol pumps and CNG stations.
10. In addition to duly complying with the license conditions of the Petroleum Rules 2018, it is requested to inform the concerned police station if necessary.
