Country's second largest Novo Theatre awaiting inauguration

Dhaka, August 12: The country's second largest Novo Theater 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheater' has been built in Rajshahi. The latest Novo Theater of the country is opening next September. In the meantime, the Public Works Department has completed the entire work of this project with modern technology. It will be handed over to the Ministry of Science and Technology any day.

According to the information of Public Works Department, the construction of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheater in front of Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Udyan in Rajshahi started in 2018 at a cost of Tk 232 crore. Overcoming various obstacles such as the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war which ended in July this year. Now the last minute washing is going on.

The country's largest facility has five-G hall with planetarium and modern observed telescope; Which is the first in the country. Rajshahi's Novotheater is slated to be inaugurated next month.

Harun Or Rashid, Executive Engineer of Rajshahi Public Works-1, told Jago News that only Tk 140 crore was spent on building the project. The rest of the money was spent on parts of the Novotheater and other sectors. Apart from just the planetarium, there is a huge space here. Apart from any science exhibition, various educational events can be held here.

He said that the world's modern telescope is being installed, with which researchers can further study the cosmos. This project of the Ministry of Science and Technology has been constructed by the Directorate of Public Works by maintaining proper quality.

Modern decorations have been installed. Lighting, beautiful water fountain in front of the building. Installation of central AC throughout the building, ticketing system fully automated and digital. More than 140 CC cameras have been installed to ensure security with modern fire protection and detection systems.

There is also at least 100 car parking facilities for visitors. All in all, this science research and space exhibition center is going to be the most modern building of the present time. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate it.
