Covid-19 kills 31 people; highest single-day death in the country in 2021

In the last 24 hours in between Wednesday and Thursday, 31 people died with the Covid-19 disease in the country, which is the highest single day death in the new year, according to an offical press release.

So far 7,718 people have died due to the coronavirus infection in the country.

Meanwhile, 1,007 new patients have been identified in the last 24 hours.

This is the first time the single-day identification crossed a thousand cases in the new year.

According to the Department of Health, 15,634 samples have been collected in the last 24 hours, and 15,381 samples have been tested. So far 33,17,810 samples have been tested.

During the aforementioned 24 hours, 966 people have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 4,64,448.

In the last 24 hours, the identification rate was 6.55 percent, while the overall identification rate stood at 15.67 percent. The recovery rate is 89.33 percent and the death rate is 1.48 percent.

Of those who died in the last 24 hours, 21 were men and 10 were women. So far, 5,867 males and 1,851 females have died.

According to the divisional analysis, 18 deceased were from Dhaka division, 6 from Chittagong, 2 each from Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh and 1 from Barisal.

In 24 hours, 29 people died at the hospital and 2 at home.
