Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 16: To prevent coronavirus infection, the government is launching a special campaign — Crore doses in a day — on February 26 in the capital and across the country to administer the highest number of first-dose vaccines in one day. Through this, the first dose of vaccination in the country will end.

On Tuesday (February 15), the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Prof. Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, said this in a video message.

Calling on those who have not yet been jabbed to take the vaccine, he said a recent study has found that most of those who had been hospitalized and died while undergoing treatment had not been vaccinated. The number of hospital admissions and deaths is lower among those who have been vaccinated.

He said the target was set for the highest number of first-dose vaccinations in a single day on February 26. This will end the first dose of vaccination. Then the second and booster dose will be administered. So he immediately urged everyone to get the corona vaccine.

Meanwhile, 34 more people have died in Corona in the last 24 hours in the country. At this time, 4,746 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected. The death toll from the virus has risen to 28,872 since the outbreak of the pandemic. On the other hand, the total number of infected patients has increased to 19 lakh 19 thousand 102. Daily detection rate is 13.77 percent.
