Daily infection rate stands at 31.64 percent as 17 die of coronavirus in last 24 hours across Bangladesh

Dhaka, January 26: The coronavirus death toll in Bangladesh has risen to 28,273 after another 17 people died of the infectious disease in the country between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

During this time, 15,527 people tested positive, taking the caseload to 17,31,524.

According to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 1,052 people recovered during the said period. So far, a total of 15,60,006 people have made recovery after being infected with Covid-19 in Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, 49,275 samples were collected and 49,073 were tested in the last 24 hours. The daily infection rate was 31.64 percent, while the overall detection rate stands at 14.12 percent.

Among the 17 deceased were 13 men and four women. Dhaka division accounted for 10 deceased, while Chittagong reported four. Rajshahi, Khulna and Mymensingh recorded one death each.
