Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 16: BNP's 'Deadline 10 December' is now the most talked about issue in the political arena of the country. Law and order forces have taken a cautious stance in this regard. Although none of the circles have given importance to BNP's announcement, the law and order forces do not want to take the issue lightly. If any political party in the name of movement-struggle or mass gatherings commits terrorism, anarchy and burning cars, they will take a strict stand. For this purpose, agencies have already increased intelligence surveillance across the country.

According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) sources, instructions have been given to the policemen of all levels of DMP not to take leave except for urgent needs ahead of December 10. BNP police station and ward-level leaders are being monitored. Especially those who have been involved in arson in the previous case of sabotage are being identified. They can be brought under the law quickly. All in all, the police will be in a strict position to prevent violence on that day.

According to BNP sources, the party will hold a mass meeting in Dhaka on December 10. There will be presented the 'outline of state reform'. BNP will officially reveal the national government that Tariq Rahman spoke about. The divisional mass meeting that BNP started from Chittagong on October 12 will end with the program in Dhaka. As a result, the party will announce a new program from this mass meeting.

Several leaders at the responsible level of BNP said that the proposed outline is being planned keeping the 'Vision 2030' announced by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on May 10, 2017 at the center. These include balancing the powers of the President and Prime Minister, establishing an inclusive, non-discriminatory 'Rainbow Nation' and forming a National Reconciliation Commission. Among the notable issues will be the establishment of an upper house in the National Parliament, re-introduction of the referendum system by amending the constitution, preparation of a list of brave freedom fighters, guaranteed access to health care, stopping the use of party symbols in local government elections, and reducing import-dependence on electricity.

BNP wants to hold a peaceful rally in Dhaka on December 10. The party has also sought permission to hold a rally in front of the central office in Naya Paltan. BNP leaders went to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner's office on Tuesday (November 15) to seek permission for the rally.
