Dhaka, February 17: All the educational institutions of secondary, higher secondary and university level are being opened on 22nd February. However, a decision on reopening the primary school will be taken in two weeks, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni. The Education Minister said this in an online briefing on Thursday (February 17) at 11:30 am. She said the decision was taken in consultation with the National Technical Advisory Committee on Coronavirus.

The education minister said, "Students who have received two doses of vaccine will be able to go to class physically. However, those who have not yet received the two-dose vaccine will take the class online."

Dipu Moni said, "The total number of secondary level students between the ages of 12 and 18 is about one crore and 28 lakh. Among them 26 lakh 57 thousand students have received the first dose of vaccine, while 34 lakh 50 thousand students got the second dose. Students who get the first dose will be brought under the second dose by February 21."

She said, "Since the educational institution was closed for a month due to coronavirus, it will start from where it ended. The number of classes will be increased than before. The short syllabus of this year's SSC and HSC candidates will be completed soon."

The education minister said, "Teaching should be conducted in the classroom strictly following the hygiene rules. No concession will be given in this regard. At present, efforts are being made to bring students under 12 years of age under the coroner's vaccine. The World Health Organization is also working on this. If they approve, we will start the process of bringing the children under vaccination."

The government imposed 11-point restrictions on coronavirus infections from January 13. Then, on January 21, the Cabinet Division issued five new directives including closure of educational institutions. It directed to close the educational institution till February 6. Later, the government decided to extend the leave for two more weeks.
