Dengue claims 13 lives in one day

Dhaka, July 19: Thirteen people have died in 24 hours till 8 am on Tuesday due to dengue fever transmitted by Aedes mosquito across the country, which is the highest death in one day in dengue this year. During this time, 1,533 people were infected and admitted to the hospital. From January 1 to July 18 this year, 127 people have died and 24,000 people have been infected.

From Monday (July 17) 8:00 am to Tuesday 8:00 am, 779 of the 1,533 people who were infected with dengue and admitted to various public and private hospitals of the country are residents of Dhaka and 754 are from different areas outside Dhaka.

This information was shared in the report on dengue signed by Dr. Md. Zahidul Islam, in-charge of the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS on Tuesday (July 18).

According to the report, 1,392 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours. Among them, 674 are residents of Dhaka and 718 are outside Dhaka. On the other hand, among the 13 people who died in 24 hours, 9 people are from Dhaka and 8 people are from different areas outside Dhaka.

From January 1 to July 18 this year, a total of 18 thousand 304 people have recovered and returned home. Among them, 11,937 people are in Dhaka and 6,367 people are outside Dhaka.

Five thousand 569 people are currently receiving treatment in various public and private hospitals of the country due to dengue. Among them 3,443 people in Dhaka and 2,126 people outside Dhaka.
