Bangladesh Dense fog forces Dhaka flight to land in Sylhet
Dhaka, 21 January 2024 : Two international flights could not land at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport due to dense fog.
These two flights landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport sources informed this information on Saturday evening.
According to sources, a US-Bangla flight from Doha, Qatar was scheduled to land at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning.
But due to thick fog, the flight could not take off and landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 8:55 am. At around 10:40 in the morning, when the weather conditions became normal, the flight left for Dhaka again.
On the other hand, at 9:44 am, another flight from China's Guangzhou landed in Sylhet without being able to land in Dhaka. Later it left Sylhet for Dhaka at around 10:40.
Earlier on Wednesday, two flights of Bangladesh Biman landed in Sylhet in thick fog. Besides, one flight on January 6 and five flights on January 2 landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport without being able to land in Dhaka.
