Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 16 November 2023: India has clarified its position on Bangladesh in recent discussions between the Defense and Foreign Ministers of India and the United States in New Delhi. Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that Dhaka has no disagreement with the message that India has given to the United States about Bangladesh. The minister said this in response to a question from journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

Four days ago, in the meeting of the defense and foreign ministers of India and the United States in New Delhi, Bangladesh was discussed in view of the upcoming elections. In that meeting, Washington was informed by New Delhi that how the elections will be held is an internal matter of Bangladesh. After the message from New Delhi, the pressure that Washington continues to put on free, fair and peaceful elections in Bangladesh will decrease, Dr. Momen's attention is drawn.

In response, Momen said to the questioning journalist, "You ask Delhi that. Bangladesh does not disagree with India's decision. We believe that India is the largest democratic country in the world and they are very mature. The government is very mature. We don't disagree with what they (India) say."

Talking about the so-called 'fake' adviser to the US President, Mia Zahidul Islam Arefi, the foreign minister said, "Everyone is playing with the US government in our country. It has become like a game."

The foreign minister said, "President Biden is not such a stupid person. He is an adviser. It is very sad, shameful. A fake person, he complains and he holds a press conference at the BNP office. Not just a press conference, he talks to BNP leaders before that. Then BNP leaders were sitting next to him when he held a press conference."
