Dhaka's air quality improves due to rains

Dhaka, Dec 9: Pakistan's Lahore is at the top of air pollution. On the other hand, Dhaka ranks 31st in terms of pollution levels. Dhaka's air quality has improved slightly due to rain. On Friday, December 8 at 11:43 pm, the Air Quality Index (IQAIR) index of the air quality monitoring organization revealed these data.

Lahore tops the list with a pollution score of 302, meaning its air quality is hazardous or dangerous. Karachi is another city of Pakistan in the second position. This city has a score of 187 which means the air quality is unhealthy. Kuwait City of Kuwait is in the third position. On the other hand, Dhaka, the capital, has a score of 90, which means that the air quality of the capital is moderate or tolerable.

Air quality is considered good if the score is between zero and 50, while 51 to 100 is moderate or tolerable air quality. A score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. 151 to 200 is considered unhealthy. A score of 201 to 300 is considered very unhealthy. Besides, if it is more than 301, it is considered disastrous. Air quality in the capital Dhaka was abysmal in January this year, reaching its highest level in seven years.
