Dhaka world's second most polluted city followed by Kolkata

Dhaka, Jan 10: The capital Dhaka is number two in the list of air pollution. On the other hand, Kolkata city of India is at the top position.

This information is known from the Air Quality Index (IQAir) index of the Air Quality Monitoring Organization on Wednesday (January 10) around 8:35 am.

Kolkata, which tops the list, has a pollution score of 278, meaning its air is at a very unhealthy level. Then there is the capital Dhaka. The score of this city is 219 which means the air quality here is also very unhealthy. Next is Lahore in Pakistan. Air pollution in this city is also similar. Then there is the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Air quality is considered good if the score is between zero and 50 while 51 to 100 is moderate or tolerable air quality. A score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. 151 to 200 is considered unhealthy. A score of 201 to 300 is considered very unhealthy. Besides, if it is more than 301, it is considered disastrous.
