Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 8: Digital delivery infrastructure, a new feather, has been added to the digital transformation of the postal service to build a sustainable eco-system in the digital business sector. In the presence of Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar, an agreement regarding e-post was signed with the Directorate of Posts on Monday at Dak Bhaban.

Director of Postal Department SM Harunur Rashid and Mohammad Abdul Waheed Tamal on behalf of Epost Software signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Pursuant to the agreement, E-Post Software Limited will provide digital solutions for the expansion of e-commerce services to various offices of the postal department across the country. And the country's largest e-commerce platform Daraj and other established e-commerce service providers are soon joining this platform.

Referring to various aspects of digital technology development at the contract signing ceremony, Mustafa Jabbar said that the MoU of E-Post with the Department of Posts is a 'milestone' in the expansion of digital commerce. E-Post will create a digital ecosystem by expanding the range of digital business through post offices in different parts of the country by creating digital solutions and tracking systems for product delivery infrastructure.

The minister said that new horizons have been opened for the country's e-commerce sector through this agreement. As a result, with the continuation of the digital transformation of post office services, people at the marginal level will get the products purchased from the digital shop at home at a low cost. In this system, it will be possible to deliver products through various hubs centered on 10,000 post offices in the country. The automatic tracking system will also enable easy identification of where the customer's product is. Each post office will have a separate corner for e-commerce from which products will be shorted, tracked, and delivered to the customer at the earliest.
