DSCC Mayor Tapas inaugurates development work of Postagola crematorium

Dhaka, November 10: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas has inaugurated the development work of Postgola National Crematorium. He inaugurated the work by laying the foundation stone on Wednesday (November 9) morning.

After the inauguration, he told the reporters, "Today I laid the foundation stone of our long awaited Postgola national crematorium development work. We are arranging a modern crematorium here with toilets, new gas furnaces at a cost of 1 crore 9 lakh taka. Ensuring all the facilities, determining the needs. We have taken up this process. We hope that this work will be completed soon. We will also ensure that the crematorium can be operated in an alternative system during construction. Also, we will provide accommodation for those who live in the crematorium."

Speaking to reporters in Postgola, Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said, "Dengue outbreak has increased in the country due to varying degrees of rain."

He said, generally, the spread of dengue decreases after September. But this time Dengue has taken the opposite form.

DSCC Mayor said, "Dengue outbreak has been observed since September due to sudden and intermittent rains. As per the opinion of experts, we have seen dengue spread since September. But this time we are seeing the opposite."

He added, "We were able to control it completely till September but it has increased since October. Experts believe it is due to climate change. We are continuing our operations."

Stating that dengue is still under control in Dhaka South City Corporation area, DSCC Mayor said, "If you look at the data, only 48 patients have been detected in 75 wards of Dhaka South City Corporation till Tuesday. As a result, we have been able to control dengue in Dhaka South City Corporation area."
