ECNEC | RMU ECNEC approves ten projects including establishment of Rajshahi Medical University
Dhaka, June 14: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 10 projects, including the establishment of Rajshahi Medical University.
The projects were approved at a meeting held at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday (June 14). ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting by joining the NEC conference room through video conference from Ganobhaban.
After the meeting, State Minister for Planning Dr Shamsul Alam gave details in a press conference.
The state minister said the total cost for implementation of 10 projects would be Tk 10,855.60 crore. Of this, Tk 5,142.55 crore will be available from government funds, Tk 4,956.75 crore will be available from foreign loans and Tk 756 crore will be available from the company's own funds.
Responding to a question from reporters at the press conference, Mosammat Nasima Begum, a member of the Planning Commission's socio-economic infrastructure department, said the 'Establishment of Rajshahi Medical University' project has been approved. The total cost for the implementation of this project will be Tk 1,867 crore. The entire money for the implementation of this project will be spent from government funds.
