Efforts are being made to recognize Genocide Day in the world: Home Minister

Dhaka, 26 March 2023 : Efforts are being made to recognize Black Night on March 25 as 'Genocide Day' globally, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

He said, "We are making efforts to make Genocide Day known to the world."

The minister said, 'At the same time, those who killed Bangabandhu, we have also brought them under justice and punished them. Some are still on the run. We are contacting them in different countries of the world, wherever they are, to bring them too. We are trying to bring them soon and execute the death sentence.”

The Minister said these things after paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War at Rajarbagh Police Lines Martyrs Memorial in the capital on Sunday (March 26) at 8 am.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, 'We observe every day of March as a very important day.

Independence Day and before 25 March. We have been observing 25 March Kalrat as Genocide Day. Hundreds of thousands of Bengalis were killed within six hours that night. That night at 12 o'clock Bangabandhu announced that Bangladesh is independent from today. Since then we celebrate as Independence Day.'
