Eid: Dhaka still empty, people still leaving for ancestral home

Dhaka, June 30: Like every year around Eid, the capital Dhaka has become very empty this year. There is no hustle and bustle in the busiest cities. There is no unbearable traffic jam on the roads. All in all, the ever-familiar Dhaka has taken the form of an unknown city on Eid.

Today is Friday, the second day of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. Since this morning, several vehicles and passengers heading to different destinations have been seen on various roads of the capital. Some of the roads were a little tangled with people and some were completely empty. This morning, on the ground, such pictures were seen by visiting various roads of the capital. Dholaipard, Jatrabari and Syedabad areas of the capital have seen traffic congestion since morning.

Transport officials said that many are returning to the village on the second day of Eid. As a result, there is little pressure on the roads. The presence of passengers was also noticeable at the bus counters. The number of cars has also increased with the increase in passengers.

Many people sacrificed animals at their homes in Dhaka yesterday on the day of Eid. He went home with that meat today. Meanwhile, although there were not many vehicles on other roads, the number of rickshaws and CNG-powered auto-rickshaws was high.

On the second day of Eid, many people go to their relatives' houses as there is usually an invitation. Today, the number of such passengers on the roads of Dhaka is not less. Besides, entertainment centers especially cinema halls are crowded. Therefore, CNG autorickshaws and rickshaws dominate the roads.

Gulistan, Paltan, Shahbagh, Karwan Bazar and other roads were empty since the morning due to low traffic. However, people's traffic may increase slightly as the day progresses. Vehicle pressure in these areas is also much less today than any other day.
