Ekushey Book Fair Ekushey Book Fair to start from February 15
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 4: Amar Ekushey Book Fair will begin on February 15. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the book fair virtual on that day at 3 pm.
Bangla Academy Secretary A H M Lokman confirmed this on Thursday.
He said the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2022 will start on February 15. The government has decided to start the book fair on this day. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate the book fair at 3 pm on that day. The date of allotment of stalls in the fair will be announced in the next one or two days. However, he said it has not been finalized yet that how many days the fair will be continued.
Earlier, the Bangla Academy had proposed to hold Amar Ekushey Book Fair conditionally from February 15 to March 17. The proposal was adopted at a meeting of the Bangla Academy Book Fair Organizing Committee on Tuesday (February 1). It was then sent to the Ministry of Culture in the form of a proposal.
Jalal Ahmed, member secretary of the book fair organizing committee, said it has been proposed to hold the book fair from February 15 to March 17 on the condition of observance of health and hygiene rules and vaccination. Earlier, the book fair was scheduled to start on February 1, but it was postponed for two weeks on January 16. State Minister for Culture decided to postpone Ekushey Book Fair for two weeks due to the Corona situation.
