The place was occupied by Dhaka Shanghai Ceramic Industry Limited, owned by Mosaddeq Ali Falu, a former adviser to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. The local administration has vacated the house.

Like Savar, about five and a half thousand acres of evicted government khas land across the country have been rescued and the Prime Minister's gift house is being built on it. The current market value of this place is around three thousand crore taka.

Project officials said that in some cases, the recovery of occupied government khas land has been speeded up. Even after the rescue, the time has come to build a house. ABM Azharul Islam, chairman of Shimulia Union Parishad No. 1 in Savar, said, "The land was in the possession of a local businessman. Mosaddeq Ali Falu bought this khas land from him at a nominal price and took possession of it. The goods of his ceramic factory were stored in this place, where 64 houses are being constructed currently.
