Dhaka, April 25: Travellers to Bangladesh from countries at high risk of coronavirus infection should not only be vaccinated, but also carry a Covid-19 negative certificate. To this end, the National Technical Advisory Committee has given six suggestions including strengthening screening at the entrances of all the ports of the country.

The recommendations were made in a press release signed by committee chairman Prof Mohammad Sahidullah on Monday (April 25th).

The six recommendations were adopted at the 57th meeting of the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, the statement said.

In its recommendation, the advisory committee said that although the prevalence of Covid-19 in Bangladesh is declining, it is currently on the rise in various countries in Asia and Europe, including neighboring countries. Which is worrying. If not warned now, the National Technical Committee fears that the infection may spread in Bangladesh as well. In order to control the infection, it is recommended to follow the hygiene rules in all cases, including wearing a proper mask and ensuring social distance. The committee recommended to increase the awareness campaign.

On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, it is recommended to ensure that people wear masks while shopping and traveling and on their way home. Besides, the national committee has suggested to motivate the people through the Islamic Foundation to ensure hygiene in Tarabi prayers and Eid Jamaat.

It is also recommended that the Ministry of Health organize a meeting with the hospitals and the Department of Health to give necessary directions in this regard to alert the hospitals against covid-19.

At the same time, through the National Committee on Covid-19 Infection Control, an inter-ministerial meeting has been organized between the Ministry of Health and other ministries and it has been recommended that everyone be vigilant in controlling the infection. The National Advisory Committee also recommended strengthening genome sequencing and surveillance.

The rate of coronavirus infection has been rising in China for more than a month now. Meanwhile, coronavirus infection has also increased in neighboring India over the past few days. Do not attack the countries of Europe again.
