Fishing prohibited in the sea for 65 days

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, May 20: The Fisheries Department has imposed a 65-day ban on sea fishing in Patuakhali for unrestricted breeding and conservation of marine fishes.

District Fisheries Officer Mollah Emdadullah confirmed the information on Thursday (May 19) noon.

He said all types of fishing in the sea have been banned from May 20 to July 23. At that time each registered fisherman will be given 86 kg of rice.

Most of the trawlers have already returned to Mahipur and Alipur fishing ports.

However, returning firshermen said they will face a huge loss due to this 65-day fishing ban.
