Five more succumb to dengue, 888 admitted to hospital on Wednesday

Dhaka, November 10: Five people died of dengue in the 24 hours from Wednesday 8 am to Thursday 8 am. With this, the number of deaths due to dengue fever in the country increased to 192 this year. At the same time, 888 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. With this, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals across the country stood at 3,248.

Out of the 888 people who were admitted to the hospital due to dengue infection in the 24 hours, 475 are residents of Dhaka and 413 are outside Dhaka.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 46,486 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue from January 1 to November 10 this year. Among them, 43,046 people have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

The first death due to dengue was reported on June 21 this year. During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28,429 people were infected with dengue fever across the country. In the same year, 105 people died of dengue nationwide.
