Floods: 10 more die as death toll touches 145

Dhaka, August 5: The death toll in the Bangladesh floods has touched 145 after 10 more people died in the last 24 hours.

The floods, which hit Bangladesh in the last week of June, have affected 162 upazilas across the nation.

According to officials, the water level will take at least a week to recede fully.

Faridpur, Kurigram, Madaripur, Netrakona, Sirajganj and Tangail are the worst hit areas.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).29 died in Jamalpur; 25 in Tangail; 22 in Kurigram; 14 in Lalmonirhat; 13 in Manikganj; 12 in Gaibandha; 11 in Sirajganj; five in Netrakona; three in Rangpur; two in Gopalganj, Naogaon, Nilphamari and Sunamganj; and one in Munshiganj, Rajbari and Shariatpur. 

To help the victims, the government has made 1,567 in the flood affected districts.
