Food Minister meets Indian High Commissioner Doraiswamy

Dhaka, 13 October 2020: Newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Vikram Doraiswamy held a meeting with Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder.

The meeting was held at the Food Ministry on Monday (October 12).

Food Secretary Mosammat Nazmanara Khanum was present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the Indian High Commissioner discussed bilateral issues with the Food Minister and praised Bangladesh for tackling the ongoing Corona pandemic.

The Food Minister said India is a tested friend of Bangladesh. The good relations that India had with Bangladesh during the war of liberation are getting stronger everyday. Good development and mutual understanding between the neighboring countries facilitates economic development of both the countries.

It is hoped that the meeting will further strengthen the friendly political relations between the two countries.

Vikram Doraiswamy said, "We have worked together during the Corona pandemic because India has very good relations with Bangladesh. This is possible because of the close relationship."
