Dhaka, June 13: Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen is going to visit India this week. He will also attend a meeting of the Bilateral Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) in Delhi. Momen's visit is important ahead of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India. This information was reported in the Indian media on Monday (June 13).

According to sources, the meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) may be held on June 18.

This meeting is going to be held after two years. The two countries will discuss a number of issues, including connectivity, river water sharing, investment and security partnerships. Last month, the Bangladesh Foreign Minister met Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in Guwahati. At the time, he sought India's advice on importing fuel oil from Russia, as Bangladesh also wanted to ensure energy security.

Besides trade and connectivity, security, development cooperation, consular and cultural issues will be discussed at the JCC meeting. The two sides are also expected to discuss ways to increase train services and flights for the benefit of a large number of Bangladeshis traveling to and from India for tourism and medical treatment. The Indian Foreign Minister visited Dhaka in April this year.
