Four consecutive bank recruitment test questions leaked, five detained

Dhaka, November 11: Questions of the recent recruitment test conducted by Bangladesh Bank under the Bankers' Selection Committee has been found to be leaked. Five members of the ring has been detained by Detective Branch (DB) police, who disguised as students and took an exam. According to the information received from them, the DB says that the ring has leaked questions in four consecutive recruitment tests of the bank. Three among the arrested are officials of various government banks.

DB's preliminary investigation has revealed more sensational information. Questions have been leaked from the ICT department of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, which is responsible for preparing the question papers and conducting the examinations in collaboration with the government bank officials involved. So far, the gang has collected Tk 60 crore from job seekers by leaking question papers and answer.

The information was given at a press conference held at the DMP's Media and Public Relations Department on Minto Road in the capital on Wednesday (November 10) afternoon. DMP Additional Commissioner DB Head AKM Hafeez Akhter gave this information.

Earlier, the Tejgaon Zonal Team of the Detective Tejgaon Division conducted a special operation from November 6 to Wednesday (November 10) and arrested five people involved in the leaking of Bangladesh Bank question papers.

The arrested persons are: Moktaruzzaman Royal, 26, ICT Technician of Ahsanullah University, who was responsible for leaking questions and answers; Shamsul Haque Shyamal, 34, of Gulshan branch of Janata Bank; Rupali Bank senior officer Jane Alam Milon, 30; Mostafizur Rahman Milon, 38, a senior officer of Pubali Bank; and the examinee's Swapan.

AKM Hafeez Akhter told a press conference that the recruitment test for 1,511 officer (cash) vacancies of five banks was held on November 6. Of these, 183 are in Sonali Bank, 516 in Janata Bank, 500 in Agrani Bank, five in Rupali Bank and seven in Bangladesh Development Bank. The MCQ examination was held at different centers in Dhaka from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology was in charge of preparing the question papers and conducting the entire examination through the Banker Selection Committee of Bangladesh Bank.

The Tejgaon zonal team of the Tejgaon division of the DB, which has been working for a long time to prevent the leaking of question papers, has received information that the question papers of the examination will be leaked on the night of November 5. The DB team then contacted the members of the clique in disguise to get the answers along with the question papers at 7:00 am on the day of the examination. Raisul Islam Swapan (36), one of the leaders of the circle, took the examinees with him when the money was given in advance. After that, Swapan was arrested red-handed along with the answer sheet of the examination.
