Friendly relations with neighboring countries lead to development: Sheikh Hasina

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 2 November 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that if there is friendly relations with neighboring countries, the country will develop.

"We have proven it. It has set a precedent in the world," she said.

The Prime Minister said this at the inauguration ceremony of 'Akhaura-Agartala Cross Border Rail Link, Khulna-Mongla Port Rail Line and Unit-2 of Maitri Super Thermal Power Plant' on Wednesday.

She attended the event from Ganobhaban through video conferencing. On the other hand, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also joined through video conferencing from his office. These three projects are implemented with Indian funding.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Our government has emphasized on infrastructure development. Among them, the Padma multi-purpose bridge will contribute to the regional communication system. Besides, we have launched metro rail services in the country. The Bangabandhu tunnel has been constructed under the Karnaphuli river."

She said, "India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the event. I am really happy. Thanks and gratitude to him."
