Gabtoli Haat Gabtoli cattle market: DNCC Mayor Atiq fines Tk 10 lakh for flouting Covid-19 health guidelines
Dhaka, July 19: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam has fined the leaseholder of Gabtoli animal market Tk 10 lakh for flouting Covid-19 health guidelines. Atiq made the remarks while visiting the city's permanent cattle market in Gabtoli on Monday (July 19).
"The market will not be allowed to continue due to such mismanagement. Action will be taken wherever we will see this," Mayor Atiq said.
The lease has been given as per the agreement and conditions, the mayor inspected whether those conditions are being fulfilled properly. At that time, he distributed masks among those who entered the market without masks and also helped many traders put on the masks.
Mayor Atiq said the problem is arising as people are not following the health guidelines. "Follow the rules and conduct business," he said.
Asked what actions will be taken against such mismanagement, the mayor said the magistrates will take actions after looking at provisions.
He also closed a hasil ghar temporarily and order a fine after finding it to be flouting the rules.
