Dhaka, January 20: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that her government is determined to establish Bangladesh as a developed and peaceful country in the world by protecting the communal harmony prevailing in the country.

In a statement given on the occasion of 'International Hindu Conference-2023', she said that she is very happy to know that the 'International Hindu Conference' organized by 'Bangladesh Hindu Parishad' is going to be held. On this occasion, he extended his sincere greetings and congratulations to all the religious people of the country.

Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh has been a country of communal harmony for a long time. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ensured the freedom of people of all religions and communities to practice their respective religions in post-independence Bangladesh. In continuation of this, during the present Awami League government, the people of all religions and castes of the country are practicing their religions freely, inspired by the non-communal spirit. The government is determined to establish Bangladesh as a developed and peaceful country in the world by protecting the prevailing communal harmony in the country.

The Prime Minister said that BNP-Jamaat created discord in the name of religion in the country. In 1991-1992, the Babri Masjid was destroyed and the minorities were attacked for 28 days. Then 352 temples were burnt. Dhaka's temples were also demolished. The Awami League government built temples all over Bangladesh. There was a problem with the site of Dhakeswari National Temple, the government resolved it. Dhakeshwari National Temple development work is going on at a cost of 10 crores.

Inspired by the spirit of the Great War of Liberation, the Prime Minister called for building a hunger-poverty-free and happy-prosperous 'Smart Bangladesh' as dreamed by the father of the nation by 2041, keeping the bond of communal harmony intact. She wished for the overall success of the 'International Hindu Conference-2023' organized by Bangladesh Hindu Parishad.
