Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 16 September 2023: Official holiday on the occasion of Miladunnabi (PBUH) on Thursday, September 28. The next two days on September 29 and 30 (Friday and Saturday) are weekends. In total, government employees are getting 3 consecutive days off including Thursday-Friday-Saturday.

The National Moon Sighting Committee meeting was held at the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram Hall on Friday evening. It was presided over by the Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mu A Hamid Jamaddar.

At the end of the meeting, a circular of the Islamic Foundation said that the meeting reviewed the information received from all the district administrations, the head office of the Islamic Foundation, the divisional and district offices, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department and the Space Research and Remote Sensing Institute about the sighting of the moon in the holy month of Rabiul Awal in the year 1445 Hijri. It can be seen that - today 29 Safar 1445 Hijri, 31 Bhadra 1430 Bangabd, 15 September 2023, there was no news of sighting of the moon in the sky of the holy month of Rabiul Awal on Friday evening. As a result, tomorrow 1 Ashwin 1430 Bhangra, 16 September 2023, Saturday, the holy month of Safar will be completed for 30 days and next 2 Ashwin 1430 Bhangra, 17 September 2023 AH, the counting of the holy month of Rabiul Awwal will begin. Next 12 Rabiul Awal 1445 Hijri, 13 Ashwin 1430 Bangabd, 28 September 2023, Thursday will be celebrated on the holy Eid Mila Dunnabi (PBUH).

As a result, government employees are getting 3 consecutive days off including Thursday-Friday-Saturday.

It should be noted that about 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born on 12 Rabiul Awal. He died on the same day at the age of 63. Devout devotees of the world observe the day with religious solemnity.
