Govt does not commit extrajudicial killings: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has said there has misinformation spread over the issue of disapearrance in the country.

He said that the government does not commit any extrajudicial killings. The government does not want anyone to go missing, to be a victim of extrajudicial killings. If any such incident occurs, Sheikh Hasina's government will take strict action against those responsible.

He said these things to reporters after laying the foundation stone of the newly constructed building of Sahebbazar High School and College in Sylhet Sadar Upazila on Saturday (October 8). Earlier, the Foreign Minister paid a courtesy call on the players before the Women's Asia Cup match between Bangladesh and India at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

After the exchange of greetings, the Minister told reporters that proposals have been sent to the government to build three more stadiums to increase sports in Sylhet. At the same time efforts are being made to rescue the dispossessed ponds in Sylhet. He also said that Sylhet was once a city of fields and ponds. Now the fields and ponds are vacant.
