Sheikh Hasina Govt is able to develop because there is peace in the country: Prime Minister
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 10: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon all to work from their respective positions to continue the development progress of the country.
She said this while speaking at the 32nd national conference of Ansar and Village Defence Forces on Thursday (February 10). The Prime Minister joined the conference of Ansar Academy in Gazipur via video conference from Ganobhaban.
She said, "The government is working for the development of the country. The development of the country means the development of every family. The government is able to develop the country as it maintains peace and discipline. We have got the status of a developing country because we have been able to develop. This dignity must be maintained."
Praising the role of Ansar, the Prime Minister said that Ansar members are playing a role in bringing down terrorism and militancy. Ansar member Abdul Jabbar sacrificed his life in the language movement. Mujibnagar has given guard of honor to the government during the war of liberation. Ansar members provide security in all development activities of the country. She said Ansar members have played an important role in countering BNP's arson in 2013/14.
One hundred sixty-two people received service and bravery medals. Highlighting the government's initiatives for Ansar members, Sheikh Hasina said training initiatives have been taken abroad for officers as well as Ansar members. The Ansar members are being given extra pulses and sugar along with their rations. Salary inequality has been eliminated, new sarees have been given. Ansar Welfare Trust has been set up for the development of this force. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also said that Ansar members have achieved great success in sports at this time.
