Gulistan Roads Gulistan roads placed on red list, actions to be taken against hawkers
Dhaka, March 1: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has decided to categorize the road from Bangabhavan to Zero Point and Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover to Gulistan area as 'red'. This road and the sidewalks adjacent to it will always be free of hawkers. The City Corporation will take action as per law if the hawkers sit on the pavement of this road with their products.
These decisions have been mentioned in the minutes of the first meeting of the committee formed to keep the roads and footpaths in the area under the jurisdiction of South City Corporation free for vehicles and people, published on the website of DSCC on Tuesday.
Recently, the meeting of this committee was held at Nagar Bhaban. In the meeting, committee convener and urban planner Md. Nazrul Islam and member secretary Kazi Noor Kawsar presented the agenda of the meeting in detail.
Urban Planner Md. Nazrul Islam said that the road from Bangabhaban to Gulistan to Zero Point and from Hanif Flyover to Gulistan area is an important road leading to Bangabhaban and Padma Bridge, a nationally important structure. The South City Mayor also has instructions in this regard. For this, it is necessary to take necessary measures through the property department.
