Hajj Hajj registration period extended till February 6
Own Correspondence, Dhaka, 03 February 2024: Hajj registration time has been extended for the fourth and last time. According to the new time, those who want to go for Hajj can register for it till February 6. After that, the Hajj registration period will not be extended in any way. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has asked those who wish to go to Hajj to complete their registration.
On Friday February 2, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Religion, Abu Bakr Siddique, confirmed this information. He said that the registration period for pilgrims through both public and private means has been extended till February 6 for the last time due to special considerations. During this time, initial registration can be done by depositing Tk 2 lakh 5 thousand in the bank or final registration can be done by paying the full amount of the prescribed package.
If the initial registration is done, the remaining money of the package must be deposited in the same bank by February 29 to complete the final registration. Otherwise Haj cannot be performed this year and the money paid during initial registration will not be refunded.
Earlier on Thursday (February 1), Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) sent a letter to the Minister of Religion requesting to extend the Hajj registration period. According to the organization, 71 thousand 689 people have registered in private management till 5:20 pm on Thursday. About 4 thousand 100 more people have payment vouchers pending.
