DMP Half of Dhaka’s polling centres risky: DMP Commissioner
Dhaka, Jan 1: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that half of the capital's 2,146 polling centres are risky.
He said this while talking to reporters after the book festival at Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College on Monday (January 1).
DMP said, "Half the center of Dhaka city has been taken security measures considering the risk. Also there are many remote centers within the city, where people have to use trawlers. Given all this, we think our security system is strong."
"Along with the police, Ansar members will provide security at the polling station in Dhaka. Apart from this, other law enforcement agencies will also patrol the area," the official added.
The 12th national election is going to be held in the country on January 7.
