Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 17 January 2024: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has commented that BNP has failed in everything and is now saying the opposite. He said this while talking to reporters in his office at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Earlier, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Prannoy Verma paid a courtesy call on the minister.

The assumption was that after the election, there would be an ebb in relation to foreigners. What do you think - the Minister of Home Affairs said, why should we be under pressure? Our country is a free country. We are following Bangabandhu's policy of 'friendship with all, enmity with none'. We think everyone is our friend. We have nothing to say if anyone thinks otherwise.

BNP said that Awami League came to power by relying on foreigners - Asaduzzaman Khan said about this, you have seen how many things they have done by visiting foreigners from door to door, sanctioning them. Having failed in everything, they are now saying the opposite. How many things did they do, how many countries did they hold in their hands to do with us. Having failed everything, they are now re-re-mushik bhav (become mice again-a popular story line). These are ridiculous things.

When asked what challenges lie ahead, the minister said, I don't have any challenges. I think the country is progressing beautifully under the leadership of the Prime Minister. It will continue. Does the government think that pressure can come from abroad - he said, I don't see it, I don't know where you are looking. We have no pressure. It is being discussed all over the country - the Home Minister said that many people say many things in the discussion. All those discussions are pointless.

Regarding the meeting with the High Commissioner of India, the Home Minister said that the relationship between BSF and BGB has been improved. Ask them to give more training on cyber security, cyber forensics. They said they would cooperate. We discussed how to improve the relationship with them.
