Mufti Sakhawat Arrest Hefazat Assistant Secretary General Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi arrested
Dhaka, April 15: Hefazat-e-Islam's Central Assistant Secretary General Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Joint Commissioner of Police Mahbub Alam said this on Wednesday (April 14) evening.
He said a DB team from the capital's Lalbagh arrested Mufti Shakhawat Hossain Razi on Wednesday evening. Hefazat-e-Islam has recently carried out violence in the name of the movement. In some of these cases, Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi was shown arrested.
Meanwhile, police have arrested four central leaders of Hefazat in the last few days. Detective DB arrested Azizul Haque Islamabadi, the organizing secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, at midnight on Monday (April 11). Azizul Haque was arrested in a joint operation of RAB and DB from Hathazari in Chittagong.
DB arrested Mufti Sharif Ullah, co-publicity secretary of Hefazat, from Jatrabari area in a raid on Tuesday night (April 13). A team from Wari Intelligence Department arrested Sharif Ullah from Mir Hazirbagh area of Jatrabari in the capital.
