Junaid Al Habib Hefazat leader Junaid Al Habib nabbed by DB Police
Dhaka, April 17: DB police have arrested Allama Junaid Al Habib, central joint secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam and president of Dhaka metropolis.
On Saturday (April 17) afternoon, DB Joint-Commissioner Mahbub Alam said Junaid Al Habib was arrested from Baridhara in the capital. Apart from the case filed against him on May 5, 2013 at Shapla Chattar, there are several cases against him at present.
Junaid al-Habib was taken to the DB office after his arrest, officials said. He will be handed over to the court on Sunday (April 18) for a 10-day remand.
Earlier in the day, Maulana Jalal Uddin, Assistant Secretary General of Hifazat-e-Islam Central Committee and Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Khilafah Majlis, Azizul Haque Islamabadi, Central Organizing Secretary of Hifazat-e-Islam, Maulana Jubayer Ahmed, Vice President of Dhaka Metropolitan, Mufti Sharifullah and several others were present. The leader was arrested.
