Dhaka, April 20: Hefazat's Amir Junaid Babunagari has turned '180 degrees' and has now blamed everything on 'jinn-ghosts'.

In a video message around 8:30 pm on Monday (April 19), he said, "We have not given any program on behalf of Hefazat-e-Islam regarding Modi's arrival. Besides, we did not have any program on March 26.

He said, "Since March 26, there have been several incidents in different parts of the country. None of which had custody command. Hefazat-e-Islam does not believe in vandalism. Hefazat leaders and activists did not vandalize or burn.

In fact, on 26 March, the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence, the leaders close to Hefazat gave a speech at a rally at Baitul Mukarram Mosque. From here, rumors spread and violence was carried out in more than one place in the country. Now, in the face of the government's firm stance, this demand of Hefazat chief Babungari can only be considered as a back-turning strategy.

Babungari said, "The government is harassing and arresting our leaders and activists from house to house. Many now spend the night outside in fear of arrest. Again, whenever they come home from outside all night to do sehri, the police go and catch them. Some are also being arrested during Iftar and Tarabi prayers."

Such a sudden ‘U-turn’ of the custody chief can be compared to their falling from the sky to the ground. This statement of Babungari is tantamount to surrendering, especially from the fact that the Hifazat leaders and activists have carried out the most horrific violence in Hathazari.

The government has already taken a firm stand on custody.

On April 1, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) summoned the bank accounts of 54 leaders and workers, including Amir Allama Junaid Babungari and Secretary General Allama Nurul Islam. An old case was filed against the leaders and activists of Hefazat 7-8 years ago including the incident at Shapla Chattar in Motijheel. The government is arresting workers first, then local to middle-ranking leaders and most recently central leaders in these cases.

Police also filed a report on April 12 accusing 43 leaders, including Junaid Babungari, who was later appointed emir, in the case of the death of the then emir of Hefazat, Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, on September 16 last year after protests over control of Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong, the main base of Hefazat. PBI).

Hefazat chief Junaid Babungari then reacted. Perhaps he himself is now in fear of arrest. That is why he is giving statements to get the attention of the government. Now he says, ‘Hefazat is not against the government. They do not want the fall of the government. If this government wants, let it stay in power for another 200 years. '
