He passed B.Sc Engineering in 2014 with first class. He was initiated into the ideals of Ansar al-Islam through his brother. Married to Abu Siddique Sohail, a member of Ansar Al Islam. After marriage, Fatema got deeply involved in militant activities.
Fatema Tasneem Shikha, wife of fugitive militant Abu Siddique Sohail, and Husna Akhtar, a member of Ansar al-Islam, were arrested from Narayanganj on Friday night in connection with the kidnapping of two militants sentenced to death by the court. On Saturday, the investigating officer of the case, Inspector Muhammad Abul Kalam Azad of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, produced the accused in the court and applied for a 10-day remand for each of them in the anti-terrorism law case filed at Kotwali police station. Fatema Tasneem's militant activities came up in the remand application.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Sheikh Sadi's court granted their 5-day remand.
It is said in the remand application that Fatema Tasneem alias Shikha is the wife of fugitive militant Abu Siddique Sohail. Fatema Tasneem was responsible for coordination between the fugitive accused and the members of the attacking organization in the case of militant robbery.
Preliminary interrogation of the two arrested accused revealed that Fatema Tasneem completed B.Sc. Engineering with first class from MIST in 2014.
He was initiated into the ideals of Ansar al-Islam through his brother Mozammel Hossain alias Simon. Later she got married to Abu Siddiq Sohail through Simon.
Sohail was a member of the military (Askari) wing of Ansar al-Islam. After marriage with Sohail, Fatima Tasneem became more deeply involved with militant organizations. Sohail was arrested in 2017 as an accused in the murder case of blogger Abhijit Roy and Niladri Niloy and publisher Deepan. After the arrest, Fatema Tasneem started participating in the activities of the organization by maintaining contact with other members of the organization including the imprisoned Sohail through various encrypted apps.
