Sheikh Hasina If elected, I will build university in Faridpur: Sheikh Hasina
Dhaka, Oct 11: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has promised to make a university in Faridpur if she is elected in the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections. She made this promise while inaugurating the Padma Bridge rail link on Tuesday, October 10, in a public meeting at the Dr. Kazi Abu Yusuf Stadium in Bhangar.
Sheikh Hasina said, "Faridpur is an old city, but it was always neglected. We have developed after coming to the government. We expanded and modernized the medical college of Faridpur. I know, there is no university in Faridpur. InshaAllah, I will do that when I come to the government again."
She said, "I have no parents, brothers and sisters. There is only the people of Bangladesh. My work is for them. Zia-Ershad-Khaleda was addicted to looting and corruption. No one could vote in their time. They looted. We have come to the government and ensured all kinds of services. I have made community clinics, schools and colleges, roads."
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Presidium Member Kazi Zafar Ulah also spoke in the chair of Faridpur District Awami League President Shamim Haque. Central leaders of Awami League also participated in the public meeting.
