Home Minister If you want to change govt, come to elections: Home Minister to BNP
Dhaka, Oct 18: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has commented that if BNP wants to change the government, it will have to come to the polls.
He said, "BNP is giving one rally after another, one programme after another. They say that in this way they will continue the programme. They want the fall of the government. Such behaviour or conspiracy can never change the government. We have always been saying that to change the government, they have to come to the elections."
He said these in the discussion meeting organized at Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh-IDEB in Kakrail of the capital on Tuesday evening. This discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of Sheikh Russell's birthday and Sheikh Russel Day.
Addressing the BNP leaders, the home minister said, "If the people of the country vote for you, you will definitely go there (in government) if you win. You have seen this kind of movement, encirclement, location, arson in 2014-15. What was the extent of their movement. For 90 days they set fires, burned people, killed people. That's why our Awami League leaders may be thinking that BNP can go back to that state. We think they have made a mistake once, and if they make a mistake once, the people of this country will not forgive them."
One million BNP leaders and activists will stay in Dhaka - In response to a question about whether there is any such intelligence information, the Home Minister said, "We have heard, based on what the BNP leaders and activists or their leaders and activists are saying to us, these are being uttered and coming to us."
