Dhaka, May 4: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the IMF is seeking the continuation of Sheikh Hasina's leadership to continue the trend of development and progress in Bangladesh. The World Bank has also announced its commitment to stand by Bangladesh as a development partner.

He said, Managing Director of IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, said that the economy of Bangladesh is in a stable state even after Corona. Bangladesh needs leadership like Sheikh Hasina to face all the obstacles and move towards prosperity. She called Bangladesh as a model state in the world. On the other hand, the World Bank has also announced its commitment to stand by Bangladesh by putting ash in the face of the conspirators.

He said these in a statement signed by Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua on Wednesday.

Awami League General Secretary said, "Bangladesh's progress under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina is the cause of BNP's burning. During the BNP government, Bangladesh had to plunge into the darkness of utter failure. On the contrary, Bangladesh has been sitting at a unique height under the leadership of People's Leader Sheikh Hasina. This picture of unique height is not caught in the eyes of BNP. Because, their vision does not reach that far."

Condemning and protesting the false statements of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir published in the media, Obaidul Quader said that the BNP Secretary General can show the audacity to call the constitutionally and democratically elected government an illegal-unelected government because there is no respect for the democratic system. In the past elections were held according to the constitutional provisions. The people of the country have given a verdict in favour of Awami League. The government was formed under the leadership of Awami League President Jannetri Sheikh Hasina based on the verdict of the people.

In this context, he further said that elections will be held on time to protect the constitutional continuity by following the democratic process. The people of this country will not accept the transfer or delegation of power to any undemocratic bad power by disrupting the democratic process.

In a statement, Awami League General Secretary said, under the undisputed leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, independent-sovereign Bangladesh was established in 1971 through the great liberation war. Since independence, the father of the nation established all the sectors of the state on a strong foundation to establish the democratic rights of the people of this country. When under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangladesh became the center of interest in the World Assembly along with enviable success in all sectors, the anti-independence evil forces of this country seized the state power by killing him and his family through a deep conspiracy.
