Dhaka, February 11, 2024 : Like January, the first month of the new year, the speed of remittance flow is quite good in February.

In the first 9 days of February this month, 63 crore 17 lakh 70 thousand dollars came. More than 7 million dollars coming in every day. If the speed of remittances comes like this, two billion dollars will be released in this month as well.

The latest data of Bangladesh Bank says that 63 crore 17 lakh 70 thousand dollars came in the first 9 days of February this month. Its amount in Bangladeshi currency (one dollar is equal to 110 taka) is about 6 thousand 948 crore taka.

7 million dollars or 770 million taka are coming in a day. During the discussed period, 9 crore 90 lakh 90 thousand dollars came through state-owned banks, 2 crore 96 lakh 40 thousand dollars came through specialized banks.

53 crore 16 lakh 50 thousand dollars came through private banks and 13 lakh 90 thousand dollars came through foreign banks.

However, the number of banks which did not receive any remittance during the discussed period is 13. These include the state-owned Bangladesh Development Bank or BDBL, the specialized Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank or RAQAB, the private Community Bank, Citizens Bank, ICB Bank, Meghna Bank, Padma Bank, Border Bank and foreign sector banks Al-Falah, Habib Bank, National Bank. of Pakistan, State Bank of India and Uri Bank.

In the entire month of January, which has just ended, more than 2100 million dollars or 23 thousand 100 million remittances or expatriate income have come. During the last month of the outgoing year, December, 198,987,000 dollars come in full, which is more than 21,800 crore rupees.
