India to build multipurpose cyclone shelter-community hall adjacent to Jessoreshwari Kali Temple

Dhaka, March 27: Following his visit to the Jessoreshwari Kali Temple at Satkhira, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the country will allott funds for the construction of a multipurpose community hall and cyclone shelter adjacent to the temple.

"This structure would be used by the devotees during the Annual Kali Puja & Mela of the temple and would also be used by broader community of all faiths as a storm shelter & community facility," the MEA said in its tweet.

Modi visited the historic temple to offer his prayers.

He also gifted a handmade silver crown with gold plating for the Goddess.

A helicopter carrying him landed on the helipad of the Sobahan Secondary School ground in Shyamnagar.

Then he went to Jessoreshwari Kali Mandir and offered his prayers.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of the arrival of Narendra Modi, a flawless security zone has been set up at Shyamnagar in Satkhira. Within a five-kilometer radius of the Jessoreshwari Kali Mandir, a visible three-tier security arrangement has been put in place along with a large number of uniformed police. Sophisticated machines are being used to identify individuals. RAB is collecting human fingerprints with the help of electric devices.
