Bangladesh-India Indian High Commissioner meets Army Chief
Dhaka, July 7: Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswami paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh's new Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed. On Monday (July 5), he visited the army headquarters and met with the army chief. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
When the Indian High Commissioner arrived at the Army Headquarters, he was received by Army Chief General Shafiuddin. During the meeting they exchanged greetings and spent some time. High Commissioner Doraiswami congratulated General Shafiuddin on taking over as the Chief of Army Staff.
The Army Chief also thanked the Indian High Commissioner.
General Shafiuddin also expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the Indian Armed Forces in the Great War of Independence. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Brigadier Jagdwip Singh Cheema, Indian Defense Attache posted in Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned that on June 24, General Shafiuddin took charge as the Chief of the Bangladesh Army.
