Own Correspondent, Dhaka, May 7: Rain on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr was a cause of suffering for many but it also reduced the intensity of heat across the country. However, after Eid, the heat continued to rise again. As a result, people returning to work after Eid holidays had to suffer more. With a two-day break, it has been raining intermittently in the capital since noon on Friday. As a result, the intensity of the heat has decreased and some relief has come in public life.

It started raining in torrents after 2 pm. Many people have been seen taking shelter under the sheds of mosques or shops.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain in eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours.

The department said on Friday that some parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a couple of places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions may experience temporary gusts or thundershowers.

A depression in the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas is likely to intensify. According to the weather bulletin, the western depression is lying over West Bengal and adjoining areas.

The meteorological department also said that day and night temperatures could rise further in the next three days.
